France, Days 4 - 5

Our fourth day in France, we hung out in a town called Valence.  We strolled the streets, ate ice cream, drank coffee, and bought postcards.  I didn't take any pictures, but it was a lovely day full of sunshine and a stiff breeze.

That evening, I took photos of the setting sun at the campsite where we were staying.

I kept seeing poppies scattered here and there among other plants: wheat, lavender, thick grasses.  Their bright orange-red made perfect opportunities for photos.

On Saturday, the twelve of us packed up our things, checked out of the campsite, and drove home to Kandern.  (That's sounds odd, to be calling Kandern home.  It isn't technically home, but returning to the bed & breakfast felt sort of like returning home.  I think that's a good thing.) We got a flat tire at one point, but it all turned out well in the end and we made it back in the early evening.  We ate cheese fondue with bread and vegetables and celebrated my 20th birthday!

My time in France was so much fun and so full of beauty and enchantment (even Marseilles).  I'm thankful I got to see that part of the world.
