Annecy, France
On Monday the 18th, the Ls, As, another intern, and I - twelve of us in all - squeezed into two cars and set off for a week in Montmeyran, France. It was about a 5 ½ hour drive, and along the way, we stopped at the town of Annecy, France.
I hadn't heard of Annecy before, but I learned its nickname is "The Venice of France." It is located on Lake Annecy, and a canal of clear cold lake water runs through the city. Rowboats bob along the sides of the canal.
Lots of boats were docked on the lake, and a group of kids paddled on by in kayaks.
We strolled around Annecy, exploring little corners and crannies, marveling at old buildings next to canal-side shops. We also ate some delicious ice cream and dipped our feet in the canal. It was a nice little stop on a long drive.
