A Summer in Germany
Welcome to Abroad 2018, my little corner of the internet! This is where I'll write about the summer I spend in Germany.
This is going to be a blog with an hourglass behind it - I doubt I'll continue blogging once I go home and college starts up again. However, I thought blogging would be a good and somewhat easier way to keep family and friends updated on how my summer is going and what I'm doing without having to send out tons of emails. Thus, Abroad 2018 was born. It will probably be full of both lengthy updates and short snippets of what I'm doing and what I'm experiencing. I'll post lots of photos - I love taking photos - and all work is mine unless otherwise cited.
So why am I in Germany? Well, I am volunteering at a missionary-run bed & breakfast in the Black Forest area of Germany. The missionaries who run it are friends of my family and are going to the US for the summer. They needed volunteers to hold the fort down in their stead, so I volunteered!
I arrived safely after about thirty-six hours of travel. I slept a night at the bed & breakfast, and then the next day, the family - I'll call them the Ls - whisked me away on a surprise weekend adventure. I'll write more about that in the next post. For now, welcome to my blog! Enjoy your stay.
